01
Choose ownership or rental first
A hardware purchase transfers an asset under the agreed sale terms. You need somewhere to install it, suitable power and cooling, connectivity, replacement parts and a way to perform physical maintenance. A dedicated-server rental instead grants use of a provider-owned machine for the paid term. Rental pricing elsewhere on Tungsto is not a purchase price.
For an owned server going into colocation, include freight, rails, rack space, power, network and remote work in the budget. If the project needs a running host with a simpler hardware boundary, compare the rental catalogue before buying a chassis.
02
Request an exact component inventory
A model name alone is not a complete server. Request the CPU quantity and model, installed memory type and module arrangement, controller, drive bays, included drives, network adapters, power supplies, rails and cables. Identify any missing accessories before comparing two quotes.
For memory or drives purchased separately, confirm compatibility with the intended host. Interface, physical format, firmware and platform requirements can matter as much as capacity. Do not infer an installed feature, vendor certification or interchangeability from a family name.
Request an exact component inventory| Item | Evidence to request |
|---|
| Complete chassis | Component list, photographs, accessories and cosmetic condition |
|---|
| Memory | Module identifiers, capacity, ECC/registered status and test scope |
|---|
| Drives | Model, interface, capacity, available health data and erase status |
|---|
| Commercial terms | Dated quote, stock confirmation, shipping and return process |
|---|
03
Read the test scope, not just the word tested
Ask which checks were performed, on which components, when, and with what result. Power-on checks, memory diagnostics, device health reports and a sustained workload test answer different questions. A short successful test does not establish remaining service life or predict every future failure.
For data-bearing media, agree the required erase method and the evidence supplied with delivery. Keep test reports linked to the quoted item identifiers. No report, condition grade or service-life estimate is published on this page as if it had already been verified.
04
Agree shipping, acceptance and returns
Confirm the delivery address, packing, carrier, insurance, shipping cost, applicable taxes or import requirements, and who handles a damaged shipment. Delivery dates and shipping destinations must be agreed for the actual quote; do not assume immediate dispatch from a catalogue description.
Before payment, obtain the acceptance window, permitted checks, return authorization process, shipping responsibility and any warranty scope in writing. There is no public hardware checkout or automated stock reservation here. Use the Contact enquiry to establish the order and approved payment instructions, and never send funds to an address copied from an unrelated rental or old quote.

Questions before you order
Are the weekly and monthly server prices purchase prices?
No. Those prices are rental terms for provider-owned dedicated servers. A physical hardware purchase requires a separate quote with its own components, delivery and sale conditions.
Does a refurbished item include a fixed warranty?
No universal warranty is stated here. Obtain the exact warranty, testing window, exclusions and return procedure on the quote before accepting it.
Can I reserve stock or buy hardware through the rental order form?
No. The rental form creates a server-rental request. Hardware stock and purchase arrangements must be confirmed separately through a quote.
