Write down the workload before choosing
Start with the applications you plan to run, their normal resource use and their worst credible peak. Record active memory, disk growth, write patterns and the recovery time you can tolerate. Existing monitoring is more useful than a generic recommendation based only on your company's size.
Allow capacity for the operating system, temporary files, updates, backups in progress and a recovery operation. Filling every resource on day one leaves little room to investigate a problem. This does not mean buying the largest machine: it means giving each requirement an explicit margin.

Processor families are a starting point
The family filter narrows the catalogue; it is not a performance ranking. Compare the exact models, core and thread counts, installed memory and disks. A parallel job may use additional cores, while a task that mostly runs on one thread may not benefit in the same way.

Memory capacity and usable storage are separate decisions
Choose memory for the active workload, not merely the total size of files stored on disk. Databases, guest virtual machines and filesystem caches can compete for RAM. Check whether the exact listed configuration includes ECC instead of assuming it from a processor-family name.
The drive string shows physical devices, while raw capacity adds their advertised sizes. Neither is the amount your application can safely store after a mirror, parity, spare disks and filesystem overhead. Storage offers also separate their NVMe boot devices from the HDD data capacity.

Match the port to the actual transfer
Read the port speed on the exact offer. Consider backup windows, initial data migration, restore operations and traffic between your users and the selected region. Faster networking will not make slow disks or a constrained remote endpoint faster.
The included IPv4 and IPv6 allocations describe address space, not a ready-made application network. Confirm the delivered addresses and routing details, particularly before planning multiple guest machines, firewalls or additional paid address blocks.

Are the prices for the whole physical machine?
Yes, the listed rental configuration represents exclusive use of the physical server. The installed CPU, memory, drives and network tier are shown on its product page.
Does the catalogue show real-time stock?
No. The catalogue describes configurations and list prices. Model and region availability must be confirmed; a visible product row is not a reservation.
Can a storage server also run applications?
It can run compatible software, but choose around its actual disk, memory and compute profile. A large HDD array is not a substitute for low-latency NVMe storage when the workload needs it.
