01
A memory-focused step up within the EPYC range
This configuration combines an EPYC 7443P with 24 cores and 48 threads, 256 GB of ECC memory, two 3.84 TB NVMe devices and a 10 Gbps unmetered port. The resources belong to the rented physical host; you choose how the operating system and applications use them.
AMD identifies the processor as a single-socket EPYC 7003-series part. Its balance of compute, memory and storage is the purchasing consideration; performance depends on the complete server and workload.
02
Three reasons to put this configuration on your shortlist
These are workload fits to evaluate, not guaranteed VM counts, query rates or build times. If the workload is constrained by a single process or a remote service, a larger compute allocation may bring little benefit.
- Virtualization: consider it when a group of guests needs a meaningful memory allocation without moving to the largest EPYC hosts. Reserve capacity for the host and storage services as well as guests.
- Database and application services: consider it when memory headroom and a local NVMe working set matter. Include indexes, logs, growth and recovery copies in the disk budget.
- Parallel build or batch work: consider it when jobs can actually run concurrently and fit in the available memory. Measure the job queue rather than assuming every thread produces equal useful work.
03
Decide what the two NVMe devices must do
Two devices give you a layout decision. If mirrored, the nominal data capacity is one device before filesystem overhead and reserves; using both for separate or striped storage changes the failure exposure. The rental specification does not by itself promise a preconfigured mirror.
Identify operating-system space, application data, logs and the independent backup destination before installation. Confirm the actual drive model, endurance and controller presentation if the workload writes heavily or depends on a particular storage feature. A local copy on the second drive should not be your only backup.
04
Use the network tier with a realistic transfer plan
The included 10 Gbps port can be relevant to large data movements and multiple networked services, but it does not establish throughput to a particular user or backup endpoint. Check the paths that matter to your application and how long a full restore can take across them.
Choose Dallas, Ashburn or Portland according to delivery availability and the location of users and dependencies. Obtain the assigned IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and routing instructions before configuring services. Extra IPv4 space, advanced protection and cross-connects require separate confirmation and pricing.
05
Keep installation and recovery requirements together
Select the intended system at ordering and confirm its version, disk layout and initial access method. Proxmox VE is a candidate for virtualization; Linux distributions can support database and application deployments. The software choice does not transfer responsibility for your updates, firewall, guest administration or backups to the hardware provider.
Prepare console access and a tested external backup before relying on the machine for production. Commercial licenses or subscriptions are separate unless explicitly included. Describe any required passthrough, controller behavior or unusual image in the enquiry before assuming the platform supports it.
06
Compare the nearest alternatives before committing
Choose the EPYC 7402P offer if its smaller memory and storage allocation already cover the workload with headroom. Compare the EPYC 7513 when more cores and additional NVMe devices address a measured need. For large archives or backup repositories, compare the HDD storage range instead of forcing capacity-heavy data onto this layout.
Review the term, region and quoted options before funding the USD balance. Save the order reference and confirm delivery before changing production traffic; acceptance does not mean the operating system is ready.
Direct answers
Questions before you order
Are both NVMe drives available as redundant storage?
A mirrored design is possible to discuss, but the specification alone does not confirm that it is installed. Agree the storage layout before deployment and calculate its usable capacity.
Why choose this over the EPYC 7402P offer?
The 7443P configuration provides a larger memory allocation and larger NVMe devices. Choose it when those resources solve a real constraint, not from the model number alone.
Is this a managed Proxmox server?
The rental provides the physical host with a selectable operating system. Guest administration, backups, cluster design and software subscriptions are not automatically managed or included.
