What this configuration is suited to

Xeon E-2276G balances dedicated compute with local NVMe. Choose it when predictable CPU scheduling, fixed transfer cost and direct control of the operating system matter more than minute-by-minute elasticity.

Included with the server

  • Unmetered network port
  • IPv4 /29 block
  • IPv6 /64 allocation
  • Full IPMI/KVM access
  • Baseline DDoS protection

Operating systems

Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Windows Server, Proxmox VE, VMware ESXi, TrueNAS, pfSense, Custom ISO. Commercial software licenses are not included unless stated on an order.

Available locations

Run it in Dallas, Ashburn or Portland.

Provisioning estimates can vary by hardware availability. A final region check happens before the ledger is debited.

3 min guide

Choose it for a defined workload, not a growing collection of services

The E-2276G is a candidate for a focused application, a modest database or infrastructure services whose resource needs you can describe. Its memory allocation is smaller than the nearby Ryzen 5 3600 and Xeon E-2388G offers. That makes memory planning a more important decision than the family name alone.

Inventory the application and its supporting processes: monitoring, logging, backups and administrative tools all consume resources. Leave room for a temporary export or restore rather than assuming every available gigabyte can be assigned permanently.

Treat ECC as one requirement among several

This rental explicitly lists ECC memory. If your deployment specification calls for it, that is a reason to compare this configuration with the other listed ECC offers. It is not a reason to overlook whether the application fits in the available allocation.

Memory type does not establish application availability, database integrity or a backup policy by itself. Keep the checks your software requires, restrict privileged access and test restoration independently. The hardware choice and the operational safeguards solve different parts of the problem.

Plan the paired NVMe devices around recovery

The two NVMe devices provide 2 TB of combined raw capacity. If you choose a mirrored arrangement, nominal data capacity is one device before overhead. Confirm that layout during installation rather than inferring it from the presence of two drives.

For a database, count indexes, transaction logs and maintenance space alongside the active dataset. For a utility host, set retention for logs and artifacts. Separate partitions or directories can organize data, but they do not replace an external recovery copy.

Compare memory before moving to a larger machine

The Xeon E-2388G offers more cores and a larger memory allocation while retaining a compact paired-NVMe design. It is the first alternative to examine if the E-2276G leaves too little room for the intended workload.

The Ryzen 5 3600 has a different balance of memory, disk capacity and memory specification. Compare those trade-offs explicitly. If your requirement is mainly archive volume or sustained large-scale compute, move to the relevant storage or EPYC range instead of stretching this compact host beyond its purpose.

Questions before you order

Does the listed ECC memory make this a managed database server?

No. It describes the memory configuration. You still operate the database, updates, access controls and backups, and must verify that the workload fits the available resources.

Why compare it with both Ryzen and Xeon alternatives?

They provide different balances of memory, storage and price. A useful shortlist follows the application’s limiting resource and required hardware features rather than a brand preference alone.
