What this configuration is suited to

Xeon Gold 6426Y balances dedicated compute with local NVMe. Choose it when predictable CPU scheduling, fixed transfer cost and direct control of the operating system matter more than minute-by-minute elasticity.

Included with the server

  • Unmetered network port
  • IPv4 /29 block
  • IPv6 /64 allocation
  • Full IPMI/KVM access
  • Baseline DDoS protection

Operating systems

Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Windows Server, Proxmox VE, VMware ESXi, TrueNAS, pfSense, Custom ISO. Commercial software licenses are not included unless stated on an order.

Available locations

Run it in Dallas, Ashburn or Portland.

Provisioning estimates can vary by hardware availability. A final region check happens before the ledger is debited.

3 min guide

Start from the reason your deployment needs this platform

Consider this configuration when an application qualification process, existing deployment standard or measured workload leads you to an Intel Xeon platform. Record the requirement explicitly. A processor family preference alone does not establish that the application needs this particular allocation.

Confirm any required instruction set, device capability or vendor support condition against the actual delivered platform before ordering. Do not infer a certified application configuration from the CPU name. The rental specification is a starting point for that compatibility check.

Balance the data working set against memory

For a database or data-processing service, measure the active dataset and the memory consumed during peak operations. Allow for the operating system, monitoring and maintenance jobs. A larger raw dataset on disk does not mean it all needs to fit in memory, but access patterns determine how costly cache misses become.

The two NVMe devices provide 7.68 TB raw. Plan transaction logs, indexes, temporary processing space and recovery copies separately. Agree the intended mirror or other layout before calculating the capacity your application can actually use.

Verify the complete memory and operating specification

DDR5 identifies the listed memory platform, not every installed memory feature or configuration detail. If your procurement standard requires ECC, a particular module arrangement or another hardware capability, obtain confirmation for this rental instead of assuming it from the Xeon brand.

Choose the operating-system release and access method with the application in mind. Keep a tested recovery copy outside the server and validate the restore procedure using the software version you will operate. A hardware selection is only part of that deployment plan.

Compare the network tier and the nearest EPYC alternative

The included 1 Gbps port should be considered when exporting or restoring large datasets. A faster CPU or local drive does not remove a remote transfer constraint. Confirm any quote-based network upgrade before relying on it.

EPYC 7443P is a useful alternative to inspect because its listed memory, core and network allocations differ while it also uses paired NVMe devices. If platform compatibility permits both, compare complete costs and measured application behavior. A smaller Xeon may be enough when the workload needs fewer resources.

Questions before you order

Is ECC memory guaranteed by the Xeon name?

No. Confirm the installed memory specification for this exact rental if ECC is a requirement. The listed DDR5 platform alone is not that confirmation.

Why compare this with an EPYC configuration?

When software compatibility allows either platform, the full memory, storage, network and price balance matters. Use application requirements and representative results rather than brand alone.
