Is a Tungsto server a whole physical machine or a VPS?
Each rental assigns a complete physical server, not a virtual machine or a share of a host. The listed processor, memory, and disks belong to that rented configuration for the paid term. You control the installed operating system and remain responsible for its applications, updates, security, and data. The catalogue offers 15 configurations across Ryzen, Xeon, and EPYC families.
Back to top ↑How should I choose between the 15 server configurations?
Start with the constraint that is hardest to change: processor performance, memory, local storage, or network speed. Ryzen plans emphasize per-core performance, EPYC plans offer higher core or memory ceilings, and the storage-focused Xeon plans provide 192 TB and 480 TB of raw HDD capacity. Compare the exact specification, included port speed, and both rental prices, then leave enough headroom for recovery work and expected growth.
Back to top ↑What do weekly and monthly rental terms mean?
A weekly term lasts seven days. A monthly term lasts exactly 30 days rather than ending on the same calendar date next month. Your selected term determines the catalogue price, initial paid-through time, and each successful renewal extension. Both prices appear before ordering. The paid-through timestamp shown for a server is the authoritative end of its current rental period.
Back to top ↑How do volume discounts work?
Volume discounts are 5% for 2–3 servers, 8% for 4–7 servers, and 10% for 8+ servers. One order may contain between one and 16 identical servers. The discount is calculated from the selected weekly or monthly unit price and the quantity in that order. The accepted order records its unit price, quantity, and discount, so its original ledger debit remains traceable even if catalogue prices change later.
Back to top ↑What is included in the listed rental price?
Every listed rental includes an unmetered network port, an IPv4 /29 block, an IPv6 /64 allocation, IPMI/KVM access, and baseline DDoS protection. Included port speeds are Ryzen: 1 Gbps; Xeon: 1 Gbps; EPYC: 10 Gbps. Optional upgrades such as additional IPv4 space, advanced protection, extra disks, hardware RAID, off-site backup, cross-connects, and a second power supply require a separate quote.
Back to top ↑Is server delivery instant?
Delivery is not instant. The published provisioning window is 20–90 minutes because physical hardware must be reserved, checked, and installed. An Accepted order confirms that the order and ledger debit were recorded. A Provisioning or Queued state confirms that the requested workflow was recorded; it does not mean the physical server has finished installation or is ready for login.
Back to top ↑How should I choose Dallas, Ashburn, or Portland?
Choose Dallas, Ashburn, or Portland using your users, dependent services, backup separation, and measurements from the networks that matter to you. We do not publish guaranteed latency figures. If regional capacity is unavailable or cannot be verified, the order is not accepted. Regional capacity figures are not a promise that every configuration is ready in every location at every moment.
Back to top ↑Which operating systems can I select?
You can choose Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Windows Server, Proxmox VE, VMware ESXi, TrueNAS, or pfSense, or request a custom ISO. Commercial licenses and subscriptions are not included unless the order explicitly says otherwise. Check the required version, hardware compatibility, installation method, and licensing terms before relying on a particular system for production use.
Back to top ↑Can I change the configuration or region after ordering?
Not yet. An accepted order is tied to its configuration, region, operating system, term, quantity, and optional SSH key. There is no self-service way to change those fields or migrate the server to another region. If your requirements change, plan a separate order and a controlled data migration. The contact form can record an enquiry, but availability must be confirmed separately.
Back to top ↑Is refurbished hardware sold under the same terms as server rentals?
No. Rental prices cover time-limited use of catalogue servers. Refurbished servers, memory, and drives are sold separately, with stock, condition, testing, shipping, return terms, and any warranty stated on a dated quote. Individual sale inventory and prices are not published yet. A rental price is not a purchase price, and a quoted item should not be assumed available after the quote expires.
